COVID-19 Laboratory, Cork University Hospital (CUH)

We were appointed by CUH to provide a modular COVID-19 testing lab, with a quick turnaround. This was an 85m², three-unit nZEB compliant modular building, complete with a 60-minute fire resistant door.

The floor structure was redesigned and reinforced to accommodate the additional loading imposed by a testing unit with a total weight of 1726Kg. Two steel plates were incorporated into the floor design to minimise deflection in the installed unit.
