St John’s National School, Shannon

We were appointed by the board of management of St John’s co-educational school to design and build a 58m² Modular Classroom complete with Toilets. St John’s was established in 1961 and serves pupils in the immediate catchment area and from the neighbouring villages.

This classroom provides an Autistic Spectrum Disorder Unit, (ASD unit) with a Sensory Room, thereby offering an Autism specific learning environment. The Sensory Room gives Students a therapeutic space within the school environment. The classroom is NZEB compliant, with a 40 + Year Life Expectancy.

Castlecabin was also responsible for the Civil Works.
